About the Kennel
Destinee Kiel - Owner
I started running sled dogs when I was 10 years old, starting with my grandparents two Samoyeds. This is where I fell in love with the sport of mushing and the bond it created with my teammates/dogs.
Over the years I have been working on building my kennel and getting more involved in the dogsledding community. Having been on the board of two different clubs I have been able to help make positive changes in the sport and promote growth.
My kennel is a mixture of rescue dogs and purpose bred sled dogs. I have had the amazing opportunity to work with one of the most influential kennels in the dogsledding world and be able to become a co-breeder with them.
The last four years I have become more competitive with Dryland racing placing in the top five for the last four years and top first or second for the last 2 years. Our goal as a kennel is to compete in the World Championships along with improving our lineage in our dogs.
When not racing you can find me educating others on the history of dogsledding and dryland racing. My kennel and I love to work with children, giving demos and rides. In the off season we work on obedience and having fun swimming in the rivers and lakes or going camping and hiking in the woods.
